When the Torah leaves something out

Yehudah made a remarkable statement to Yosef; he told him “We told you that our last brother is a son of his old age, whom Yaakov cannot bear to be without “. This bears comment, for when we look back at the actual script back in Parshas Mikeitz we find no such talk! Was it then a bald-faced lie that Yehudah was passing off on Yosef? Not probable, Yosef might remember their previous conversation and Yehudah would be finished! The Chizkuni explains that the conversation actually took place; only the Torah conveniently left it out! Why? Because there was no lesson in it.

By inference we learn that every other time, when the Torah does quote the script, we have a lesson to learn from it!!
