When did Rachel Die?

Yaakov told Yosef that he buried Rochel “b’od kivraas eretz”. Rashi explains that the earth was dry at the time, and punctured like a sieve. This indicates that Rochel had died during the dry season, from Shavuos to Sukkos, probably during the latter part of that season. The Yortzeit of Rochel is commonly touted as 11 Cheshvan (Based on a Yalkut that names it as Binyamin’s birth date, and Rachel died in that birth), but from Rashi and the Midrash it seems that it is not so, because 11 Cheshvan is smack in the middle of the rainy season.
