What a prophet can see

Rashi tells us that Yaakov knew that there was food in Egypt even without anyone telling him about it. How did he know? Obviously from a Higher source. So Rashi asks: if Yaakov had access to information from Hashem how was it that he knew there was food in Egypt but not that Yosef was there? Answers Rashi, he did not have actual Nevuah, only “???????? ?? ????”. What that is, I certainly have no idea, but it is a certain level of Ruach Hakodesh. And in that level only certain things were visible, and he could see that there was food in Egypt yet not that there was Yosef in Egypt. I think this tells us something about the absolute clarity and perspective that a true Navi commands, and how nothing that he wished to see was hidden from him. We strengthen our commitment to their teachings, when we appreciate their power.
