Hashem has His plan

Hashem tells Avraham to go to Israel. When he gets there he finds that there is a hunger going. (Chazal say that this was one of the tests Hashem gave Avraham; will he question Hashem?) So he went to Egypt. I imagine he must have been pretty desperate, otherwise he wouldn’t have been allowed to leave Israel, where Hashem wanted him to be. Coming to Egypt he straight off had his wife kidnapped. It sounds like a running chain of catastrophes. Not very pleasant! What was the result of this all? As soon as Soroh was taken, Avraham became a millionaire. He received massive gifts. Sarah came right back to him. Then he turned around and went straight back to Israel. So Hashem had sent him on a short “business” trip to Egypt, that’s all. In retrospect we see the plan very clearly. And all those times that the plan is not that clear to us; Hashem knows what he is doing. Have faith!!
